Karen Sikie

In the artist’s own words: “Nature’s infinite array of beautiful forms and patterns are my muse. Its feast for the eyes is an invitation to dwell on the surface but ultimately a distraction for deeper themes such as energy, movement and the flow of life and death as the natural cycle of life. These ideas are the underpinning of my work. Whether I am meticulously hand cutting paper and applying it to a panel or engraving onto the smooth surface of lucite, shapes, forms and patterns are my language.”
